How to set up a KnowledgeOwl integration

Setting up a KnowledgeOwl integration is easy!

To do this you will first need to create an API Key in KnowledgeOwl to establish the connection with LaunchBrightly. You can find detailed instructions in KnowledgeOwl's API documentation, as well as a summary below:

1. Go to Account > API in your KnowledgeOwl account to open the API keys page

2. Select + Add new API key

3. Enter a Key purpose, such as "LaunchBrightly"

4. Under Knowledge base access, choose your knowledge base and check Read and Update for Article

5. Select Create, then select Copy to copy your API Key

6. Select Done

   

Note

KnowledgeOwl only shows your API Key once, so copy it before you select Done. Only authors with Full Admin permissions can view and manage API keys, and the API is available on select KnowledgeOwl plans.

Once you have copied your API Key, you can set up your KnowledgeOwl integration from the Settings page in LaunchBrightly:

1. Select Add integration

   

2. Select KnowledgeOwl

   

3. Add a Name for the integration, paste in your API key, and enter your KnowledgeOwl Subdomain. That's the part before .knowledgeowl.com, so for https://acme.knowledgeowl.com you would enter acme.

4. Select Test connection to confirm the details are correct

   

5. Click Save

And you're all set!

All API keys are immediately encrypted and stored using AWS Key Management Service (KMS), which leverages hardened hardware security modules (HSMs) to protect and manage cryptographic keys.
